I was the Lead Environment Artist on 6 Star, a multiplayer map released for Season 3 of Call of Duty MW3.
This map offered the team a unique opportunity to design and build a contemporary skyscraper akin to some of the daring and outrageous architecture you would find in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
The unique and bright map supports very fluid gameplay and readability.
The sweeping curves that flow into the central space and around the perimeter look great and inform the architectural style. More importantly, it allows frictionless movement through the spaces, creating a smooth gameplay experience. The materials and spaces are inherently clean, bright and uncluttered, improving readability and enemy visibility.
I’m super proud of this map and the incredible work put in by all departments.
It seems that the COD community is loving the map and the cherry on top is that it was selected by CDL (Call of Duty League) for 2 modes.
